Hugo members pause their insurance to save money on days they do not drive. When you text PAUSE, we schedule your insurance to "turn off" starting the next day. Your insurance will remain paused until you text COVER to restart your insurance. You pay nothing on days your insurance is paused. So how does this work?

When you text PAUSE, you are adding (“endorsing”) a deductible on your account that equals all of Hugo’s exposure. What does that mean? It means that you are liable for any claims you incur while your insurance coverage is paused. It’s as if you are driving without any insurance at all.

That’s why it’s vital that you remember to text COVER when you want to drive again. By texting COVER, you remove the endorsement from your policy, so that Hugo is liable for the amounts shown on your declarations page.
